For those of you planning on going to the Midland Brewing Company after the race, they serve two things: Beer and Popcorn.

If you want food they welcome deliveries should you want to eat while at MBC. Here are three possible choices, although there are many places in Midland that will deliver to MBC:

Big Bad Wolf - UPDATE!

The STOMACH OF ANGER SERIES is on the line! Check out the standings heading into the LAST AND FINAL RACE! There are a few very, very close battles going on, which should make for some great racing.

And don't forget, by entering the final Big Bad Wolf race you'll be entered to win a KHS CX200 from B-Xtreme Cycle! If you raced at SVSU you already have one entry. Winner does not have to be present to win but will be responsible for picking up the bike from B-Xtreme.

Pre-registration for the Big Bad Wolf closes on Saturday at noon, and is available HERE! Day-of registration is available for $5 more.

11:00 a.m.

35 minute race

C-Men (Cat 4), C-Women (Cat 4), Juniors 10-14

11:45 a.m.

30 minute race

Co-Ed team race!

A-Men (Cat 1/2/3), Masters 35+ (Cat 1/2/3/4), Masters 45+ (Cat 1/2/3/4)

Immediately after the awards ceremony for the 1:30 race the fun will continue at the Midland Brewing Company (big time sponsor of the Tri-City cyclocross races)! They serve beer and popcorn.

This Sunday the weather is looking to be dry and in the mid to upper 30's! With all the rain and snow Midland received over the past two weeks the sand sections should be very rideable. And don't forget the ever enjoyable mini barriers...

Big Bad Wolf: Sunday, December 11

Have you REGISTERED for this year's Big Bad Wolf race yet? December 11 is rapidly closing in! JB and Paul worked on Saturday to get the course design in order. For those of you that didn't make it to last year's warm, October event, you're in for a treat! A few pics are on the "photos" tab from last year. There will be a LOT of sand, so bring whatever tires you feel most comfortable with in those conditions. Maybe bring a beach ball too, although it might be a bit cold...

Remember, entry in the Big Bad Wolf puts you in the hunt for a KHS CX200 bike courtesy of KHS Bicycles and B-Xtreme in Midland.

ALSO, the awards will be given out from the Stomach of Anger series points! For those of you paying no attention to 'cross at all, you probably don't know about the amazingly awesome track jackets up for grab from Stomach of Anger:

In short, the Midland race is shaping up to be another great event. If there is snow bring warm clothing. If there is sun bring warm clothing, because it's Michigan and December is usually cold.

SVSU UPDATE!

The course is going to start and finish on the track (not a velodrome...unfortunately...but a running track). Hopefully the stands will be *PACKED* with cheering spectators...

There is a large hill (think Vet's Park) and we'll be running straight up it at least once. Word is there will be mini barriers (they're only tall if you're really short) that will help this process. Appropriate use of the off-camber nature of the hill will be incorporated as well. Nothing stupid...just good 'cross.

Course will consist of rubberized track, grass, asphalt, cement pavement, gravel, and dirt. It's going to be FAST so bring your file treads.

There will probably be two dismounts per lap - one double barrier and one runup.

Parking is best in lot C (seen on the campus map), with overflow parking available in lot E:

The track we're using is marked "27". The start/ finish straight will be heading north on the west side of the track. Most of the race will happen between the football field (50), track area (27), and (10), (34), (12), and the pond.

Race at SVSU this Sunday 10/9. Get an entry.

Then race at the Big Bad Wolf on 12/11 in Midland. Get another entry.

All of the entries will be put in a bin and one lucky winner will leave that day with a BRAND NEW bike!

Fine print:
You do NOT have to be present to win, but obviously your odds of winning will be better if you race both races. Not to mention you'll get more points in the Stomach of Anger series, which is sweet in itself. If you are present be prepared to get a photo taken with the bike for use on this website. Take the bike home, ride a million miles, and come back next year to race even more. If you are NOT present at the drawing and you do win, good for you. You'll be responsible for picking up the bike from B-Xtreme in Midland, showing them with praise as you leave the store with your sweet new ride. Go home, ride a million miles, and then race again next year. Tell all of your friends where you won the bike, because it is a good thing to support the sponsors that support the races! Enjoy.
